Meet the Pressley Family, our Featured Family for the Running in Place 5K to take place on October 15th, 2022! The featured family embodies all the characteristics of courage and fortitude in the face of an IBD diagnosis. As it is truly a family journey when a child is diagnosed, we look for these characteristics in the family as a whole. There is not a better description for the Pressley’s. First we have Bryan. He is a talented artist and has shared those talents with us as the designer of the IBD Warrior tee shirt that is distributed in the Warrior Bags. His commitment to his family is admirable and he 100% supports his daughter on her IBD journey. He joins us at every meeting with his entire family and participates in all our fundraisers and events. Joanne is a very soft spoken, kind and positive person, one who everyone enjoys being with. She has a creative flare and artist talent as well. Her dedication to her children and positive encouragement is evident in both her relationship with them and their confidence. She never commands attention and this is a perfect opportunity to give her the attention she is so deserving of. Then we have William. He comes to each meeting with his family and participates with all he is. His knowledge of IBD is exemplary and it is evident that he has learned all that his sister goes through. He is fun, spirited, and supportive of his sister. All IBD patients would be proud to have William by their side on their journey. Last, but certainly far from least, is Jocelyn. She is the reason for their family being part of this group. She is mature beyond her years and confident in herself. Dealing with both ulcerative colitis and rheumatoid arthritis is never easy, but she does so with a smile on her face and love in her heart. She supports everyone, and has become an integral part of the planning of meetings and events. All support group members have been touched by her kindness in some way. Pressley Family, we welcome you to Running in Place 2022 as the Featured Family!
